The Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology or CEDF-IT is a consortium of industry, academe, government and NGO's that seeks to increase the quantity and improve the quality of professionals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and IT-Enabled Services Industry through proactive intervention in the HR development sector.

CEDFIT Co-organized the 2010 ICT and BPO Conference and Exhibition last June 22, 2010 |
CEDFIT successfully co-organized the 2010 Cebu ICT and BPO Conference and Exhibition with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry last June 22, 2010 at the Cebu International Convention Center. From a very IT-centric annual event which started in 2005, the conference has evolved in its scope to include the BPO industry.
This year's conference was participated by more than 500 people and for the first time the local BPO companies took an active part in the plenary and breakout sessions. The participation was spearheaded by the big three in the local call center industry namely: CONVERGYS, TELETECH and AEGIS PEOPLE SUPPORT.

CEDFIT's General Membership Meeting and Election 2010 |
Last April 27, 2010, the Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology had its General Membership Meeting and Election at Sinulog Ballroom 3 at the City Sports Club.
The meeting was well attended by members both from academe, industry, and other stakeholders. The highlight was the election of a new set of trustees with five experienced trustees being reelected. The reelected trustees were Gregg Gabison of USJR, Cherry Lyn Sta Romana of CIT, Francis Monera of Cebu Holdings, Inc., Stan Combs of Lexmark R&D Corporation, Jerry Rapes of G2iX. The new elected trustees were Dennis Tagamolila of Aegis People Support, Chat Tecson of USC, Carlos Cornejo of CITE and Narinder Singh of NCR. The new trustees bring in a good representation from the BPO industry and the academe counterpart.
